I’m René Almeida, a film editor and post-production supervisor with a growing interest in producing because turning chaos into art is half the fun.

My cinematic obsession started when I watched Snow White in a cinema. I was impressed—my imagination took off and never returned, so I started making films.

I studied Sound and Image at university, specialising in screenwriting while working as a projectionist (from 35mm to DCP). Meanwhile, I mesmerised clubgoers with visuals as a VJ (turns out storytelling isn’t just for sober audiences)—I loved it, but sleep became a distant memory.

In 2011, I earned a Master’s in Post-Production and later taught video before moving again. Along the way, I worked as a freelancer, contributing to films in production, camera, and editing.

Now, I live in Luxembourg. Why? Who doesn’t enjoy multilingual existential crises and the financial thrill of renting an apartment?

Since arriving, I worked at Wady Films and am now freelancing again, continuing to seek new challenges. Storytelling remains my favorite puzzle—solved frame by frame, always refining, always learning.
